Sin or Not to Sin

Meandering through the Bible, I came across Ezekial 3:16-27.  I found myself dismayed at the message I understood. It was like a wake-up call. 18 “When I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life, the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand. 19 “Yet, if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.”

Whether people listen or not, I must still speak the Word of the Lord. If they do not listen, woe to them. If I fail to tell them, woe to me! I then turned to James 4:17  Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.

I also read the Notations in the Spirit Filled Life Bible regarding James 4:17:     “Sin is not only committing evil deeds; it is also passively failing to do what you know God wants you to do.”

“Do the good you know to do, regardless of the cost. Not to do is sin!” It just amazes me how the old and new testament verses just seem to fit together. I stand convicted!
