Dear FBC Family:
Grace and peace to you!
As we step into this new season, our hearts are full of gratitude for the way you love Jesus, serve one another, and bless our community. Today we want to invite you into a joyful, open handed way of life—one that trusts God fully, celebrates His provision, and invests generously in His mission among us.
Open-handed Christian living starts with this simple confession: everything belongs to God, and we are stewards of His gifts. When we loosen our grip, our hearts open to joy, our faith deepens, and our church’s witness grows.
What does open-handed living look like?
• First: it is gratitude. We give because God first gave to us in Christ. (2 Corinthians 8:9)
• Second: it is priority giving. We honor the Lord “with the first fruits” of what He provides. (Proverbs 3:9–10)
• Third: it is purposeful generosity. We decide in our hearts and give with intention, not impulse. (2 Corinthians 9:7)
• Fourth: it is compassion in action. We keep our hand open to the poor and to the work of mercy. (Deuteronomy 15:10–11; Hebrews 13:16)
• Fifth: it is partnership in mission. Our gifts move the gospel forward—discipleship, next gen ministry, missions, benevolence, and outreach. (Philippians 4:17–19)
My friends, this year let us give Biblically; let us change our lenses. In giving, let us enter into partnership with God to advance His Kingdom. Then we will be living the “open-handed” Christian lifestyle. “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7–8)
Thank you for your faithfulness, your prayers, and your joyful partnership in the Gospel. “He who supplies seed to the sower… will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness.” (2 Corinthians 9:10).
May your heart be filled with Christ’s message and may your generosity and gratitude soar to the measure of your desire to be faithful in giving.
In Him and for Him,
Lubin Beaucejour
