FBC Wallingford Presented with New Life-Saving Equipment at Sheehan Basketball Game

Through the generosity of In A Heartbeat, FBC Wallingford was given a life-saving Automated External Defibrillator (AED) system for the church. This AED machine was presented to Pastor Steve Knott and John Powers just before the Sheehan High School - Fairfield Prep boys basketball game on January 28, 2020.

In A Heartbeat is a non-profit that raises awareness and funds to donate AED machines to organizations like FBC Wallingford where large numbers of people gather on a regular basis. Mike Papale, the founder and president of In a Heartbeat, was on hand to present the AED to the church before the Sheehan High game, where Mike was a star player before he had his own life-saving incident with cardiac arrest and how an AED device allowed him to survive. Read more of Mike's amazing story here. Currently, in addition to running the In A Heartbeat Foundation, Mike is the head boys basketball coach at Fairfield Prep.

Also, prior to the AED presentation to FBC, Sheehan High School Athletics presented Mike and his organization with a check for $500.
