Monday morning brought the first significant thunderstorm in the three years the team has been coming to La Romana.  We stayed at Casa
Pastoral to wait out the storm and packed food for distribution at the batey.

Left: Nicole, Jane, Pastor Tom and Kara breakdown 120 pound bags of rice into family sized bags.
Right:  Paul, Ben, Wilbert and Rob add cans of sardines and oil to the bag for each family.

Left:  Tim, Mary, Dottie, Lisa, Len, Dan, Per, Alicia and Matt add pasta to the bags.
Right:  Susan, Anneli and Angela finish off and tie up the bags.

Left:  The rain let up by the time we arrived at the new main entrance to Good Samaritan Hospital that was started since our last visit.
Right:  Jane, Teresa and Heather continue to sort clothes by size for distribution at the bateys.

Despite the late start, members of the team went out to serve a batey.

Left: Leslie tending to the needs of a woman with the aid of an interpreter.
Right: Dottie engaged some some of the kids with ring around the rosie.

Left:  We are continuing the practice started last year of taking digital pictures of kids, printing them using portable printers and handing them
out with a label in Creole reminding them that Jesus loves them.  The looks on their faces tells the joy this brings.
Right:  Pastor Lubin continues spread the work of God and to bring people to Jesus.

Left:  Wilbert praying for a man with the encouragement of Dana, Dottie and Susan.
Right:  Pastor Lubin using healing prayer for a man's leg with the assistance of Janice, Penny, John, Ben and Susan.
